We are pleased to announce the Enhanced Category Products extension for Magento 1 (Magento 2 support is not available at this time). This extension provides a new interface to manage positioning of items in a category, making it faster and easier to merchandise products.
To reorder products with the Enhanced Category Products extension (ECP) you can simply drag and drop products around in a grid, or use quick access buttons to move products to the front or back of the list. Each product is displayed with its image and basic properties such as price and stock on hand, to give you the information needed for merchandising. You can even filter products and use an auto-sort to do most of the heavy lifting for you.

Image Optimizer by JustBetter

This extension will ensure that all your images are optimised so that they take up as little disk space as possible. It reduces the amount of storage space required to host all of your media, which can sometimes be at a premium depending on your hosting setup. It also reduces the bandwidth required to send the images to your customers, which is especially important for mobile users.

2018 has arrived and Magento extension developers have hit the ground running, with plenty of new extensions being released in the first month of the new year. Here we look at some Magento 2 extensions which make it easier for customers to place bulk orders and view their guest orders, as well as some Magento 1 extensions which help with browser cache-busting and managing product attributes.
Magento 2
Quickorder by Popesites

Bulk orders can be a hassle for customers to place on Magento stores. For each product they want to add, they have to find its product page and add it to the cart, requiring 3 or more page loads and/or AJAX actions for each product. This extension adds a ‘Quick Order’ tab to customer account panels, allowing them to enter up to 8 product SKUs along with desired quantities, and add them all to the cart at once.

Magento 2
Customer Group Payment Filters by Galactic Labs

Customer groups are a handy way to offer discounts on some products to different types of customers in your store. By default, Magento 2 includes customer groups for guests, registered users, retailers and wholesale customers. It's also very easy to create new groups to represent customers who might fall into other categories, such as loyalty program members or B2B partners.

Magento 2
Preview Checkout Success Page by MagePal

Magento's checkout success page can be hard to test. It's only shown when you complete the checkout process, and only once per checkout. If you try to refresh the success page, you'll be redirected to the cart. If you're adjusting the styles or content on the success page, having to place a new order every time you want to see the success page is very cumbersome.

Google Address Lookup for Magento 2 by CTI Digital

Addresses can be the bane of an online store. Even with well labelled fields, customers will often enter their details incorrectly, putting their city into the region field, adding extra numbers to their postcode, or simply entering their entire address into the first street field. Address validation can be a hard problem to solve in general, which is why Google Maps and the associated address lookup API can provided much needed assistance. This extension will provide customers with a single address input, allowing customers to search as they would on google maps and select their address from the list of available options.

Magento 2 Set Customer Password by Vinai Kopp

In Magento 1, customer passwords can be easily set from the admin panel under the customer management interface. This capability has been removed from Magento 2 and administrators can only initiate a password reset from the admin panel. Magento will then send an email to the customer with a link for them to input a new password. Another option for setting specific customer passwords is to export the "Customers Main File", then locate and edit the exported CSV to set the password, and finally reimport back this customer CSV file.

Magento 2 Order Comments by Rohit Kundale

One feature that a lot of custom checkout extensions for Magento 1 and 2 bring is the ability to let customers add comments to their order with a free-form text field. This can be used to provide important details to the merchant, such as delivery instructions. This extension adds a comments field to the default Magento 2 checkout without the need for a full checkout overhaul.
