It's time for another Magento extension round-up, reviewing some free extensions that were released in the last two months. This month we are reviewing a newsletter coupon extension and shipping insurance module for Magento 1, as well as Magento 2 extensions for integrating Bootstrap, menu customisation, and viewing template block hints.
Magento 1 Extensions
Magento Newsletter Coupon by StuntCoders

The Magento Newsletter Coupon extension allows auto-generated coupon codes to be sent to new newsletter subscribers based on a particular shopping cart price rule. Shopping cart price rules are created and configured the standard way in the admin panel under Promotions → Shopping Cart Price Rules. A shopping cart price rule can then be chosen from a list of all rules to be used for newsletter coupons. The coupon codes generated will have the same conditions, usage limit, usage per customer, and expiration date as the chosen shopping cart price rule.

Merchants signed up for Australia Post services will have recently received an email explaining that the SSL certificates used by Australia Post will soon be updated. As many of our customers will be connecting to Auspost APIs through the Fontis Australia extension, we will explain the impact to Magento merchants.
When is this happening?
The cutover time is scheduled for August 2nd, 2017 at 12:00 AEST.
Does this affect the Australia extensions for Magento 1 & 2?

We are pleased to announce the release of version 1.0.1 of the Fontis Australia extension for Magento 2. This is a minor update that fixes an issue with eParcel shipping.
Changes in this version are:
- Fixed issue where eParcel shipping would throw an error when saving without uploading a CSV file of rates

Changes in this version are:
- Add postcode autocomplete
- Fix an error when running in production mode
This brings the Magento 2 version of the extension to feature parity with the Magento 1 version.

We are pleased to announce the release of version 3.4.1 of the Fontis Australia extension for Magento 1. This is a minor version release of the extension which includes the following changes:
- Adds tracking support to Australia Post shipments
- Fixes issues relating to lookups on domestic postcodes less than 1000 in both the Australiapost and Eparcel shipping methods
- Minor improvement to address autocomplete

Server Timing by mzeis

An extension for developer use, Mzeis' Server Timing extension sends profiler information to the browser with the W3C draft Server-Timing HTTP header. The Chrome browser had recent support for Server-Timing headers, and the output of this extension can be viewed in the Developer Tools under the Network tab. Reload the page, select the main resource and the profiling information will be displayed under the Timing tab.

Restrict Payments & Shippings by BrainActs

The Restrict Payments & Shippings extension by BrainActs allows payment and shipping methods to be hidden on the frontend, but still remain fully functional on the backend. This is as simple as selecting the payment/shipping methods to hide under the admin panel restriction settings, and does not require any layout or template changes. In this way, payment/shipping methods can be disabled temporarily, without the need to reconfigure these methods every time they are required for use again.
